Watchdog Praises SCOTUS Donor Disclosure Ruling

Today, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) praised the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) for taking a stand for donors’ privacy rights and First Amendment protections. In a 6-3 ruling, the highest court of the land ruled that a California law requiring the non-public disclosure of donor information is an unacceptable burden on donors’ free speech rights.

TPA Sends Coalition Letters to Congress, Urging Opposition to IRS Funding in the Infrastructure Deal

The new money dedicated to the IRS under the infrastructure plan would involve the agency intensifying their focus on certain groups. Given the agency’s history and even most recent actions, this should concern the nation. The First Amendment right to free speech is foundational to our republican system. The IRS has proven to be an obstacle to that bedrock principle, and should not be allowed to expand its activities unchecked until significant reforms have been achieved.

Global Minimum Tax Means Maximum Economic Pain

Since the beginning of the new administration, President Biden has not missed an opportunity to tell global leaders that “America is back” on the world stage. This trend was amplified at the most recent G-7 summit. However, despite repeated assertions to the contrary, the agenda Biden pursued at this summit has great potential to harm the global economy and alienate the United States from its allies.
