Taxpayers Protection Alliance Praises Senate Success in Passing Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
December 2, 2017
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance congratulates the Senate for passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act early Saturday morning in a 51-49 vote. This is an important step in lowering taxes for all Americans and making America more competitive globally.
TPA president David Williams issued the following statement: “Americans have been burdened for way too long with a complex and confusing tax code. This legislation will turn the tables and give taxpayers a real opportunity to save time and money.”
Williams continued, “cutting the corporate tax rate sends a message to the rest of the world that America is once again open for business. These tax cuts are going to boost the economy and create a plethora of jobs across the country.”
Williams concluded, “The fight for tax reform is not over. Now the House and Senate must come together in committee and present the President with a final bill by Christmas. But tax cuts are only the first step; Congress still needs to address wasteful spending and make sure that deficit spending is eliminated.”
