WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) congratulated the House and Senate for passing the first comprehensive tax reform package in 31 years.

TPA President David Williams applauded the effort, saying, “The conference committee came together and presented a great tax bill that will allow the American economy to flourish. Small businesses finally get the green light to expand, hire, and increase wages, and corporations will bring jobs back to America due to the lowered corporate tax rate.”

Williams continued, “Middle-class Americans are finally going to be able to keep more of their hard-earned money. The thousands of dollars in annual savings from this legislation will help individuals and families save for education and retirement. Additionally, the onerous Obamacare individual mandate is finally repealed. TPA is pleased that Congress passed a plan that sharply curtails government while giving hard-working Americans their money back.”

Williams concluded, “There was incredible momentum behind this tax bill, and due to the dedication of hundreds of lawmakers and taxpayer advocacy groups, the President will be able to sign the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. TPA understands there is much more work to be done, but we are grateful that Congress came together to deliver tax relief for all Americans.”
