WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) has endorsed the bipartisan Identifying and Eliminating Wasteful Programs Act introduced by Senators Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) and Mike Braun (R-Ind.), along with Representatives Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) and Nancy Mace (R-S.C.). This bill is commonsense legislation that puts American taxpayers first.
TPA President David Williams offered the following comment:
“TPA is proud to endorse the Identifying and Eliminating Wasteful Programs Act, a thoughtful solution to rein in Washington’s out of control spending. TPA will continue to seek out and support proposals that improve transparency, oversight, and accountability for the thousands of programs hosted by federal agencies.
“This legislation is an important step towards identifying taxpayer-funded programs that are inefficient and duplicative. With the debt ceiling looming, it’s past time to find spending to cut instead of just increasing the amount the nation borrows. This bill is an excellent start and should again receive widespread, bipartisan support, as it did when it passed the Senate by Unanimous Consent during the 117th Congress.”
