TPA Urges Lawmakers to Support Louisiana Short-Term Rental Bill

The Taxpayers Protection Alliance recently submitted written testimony to the Louisiana House Ways and Means Committee supporting H.B. 374, a bill that would add short-term rental (STR) accommodations intermediaries as marketplace facilitators. This will allow STR platforms to collect and remit state and local sales taxes on behalf of their hosts, which will reduce compliance costs for small businesses (hosts) and allow the state to collect more tax revenue without implementing additional taxes.
