TPA Leads Coalition Letter in Opposition to Deposit Insurance Cap Increases

Last week, TPA and 13 other organizations sent a coalition letter to the House Financial Services Committee urging them to avoid increasing the deposit insurance cap. Changes to the deposit insurance framework would increase moral hazard, propagate a cycle of risky behavior that forces taxpayers to perennially bail out depositors, and subject insured depository institutions to more government control.
