WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) remains concerned that Senators have once again returned from the negotiating table without considering the consequence of a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill on taxpayers or consumers. We applaud the Senators trying to narrow the definition of infrastructure and reign in reckless spending, but this bill still contains bad policy such as $65 billion in broadband spending.
TPA President David Williams stated “Sen. Schumer and a handful of republicans are insistent on passing a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill despite concerns about the price tag and the quick process of passing the bill. Negotiators have once again missed the mark and this bill continues to fail to protect taxpayers. Returning from negotiations with reckless spending during a time of high inflation is irresponsible and dangerous for an economy struggling to recover from the pandemic.”
