WASHINGTON, D.C. – Taxpayers Protection Alliance slammed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Wednesday after the agency adopted overly broad “digital discrimination rules” regarding conduct involved in deploying broadband service.

TPA Executive Director Patrick Hedger offered the following comments:

“Despite little to no evidence of any alleged discrimination, the overzealous FCC has taken it upon themselves to institute vague rules that will actually make it more difficult to close the digital divide,” Hedger said. “The rule, which uses the disparate impact standard, holds providers accountable for unintentional actions and will only deter future innovation and deployment of broadband.”
