Washington, D.C.—Today, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance Foundation’s App Security Project (ASP) and CQ Roll Call will be hosting a food truck event with free donuts and drinks to raise awareness and educate policy makers, users, decision makers, and other stakeholders on how app software works and the importance of strong security and privacy protections for users.

This event will take place on Capitol Hill at the corner of C St SE & First St SE from 10:30AM – 2:30PM ET. The food truck will feature 3 unique donuts: The Basic Bot, The Sugary Sideloader, and the Tricky Treat.

In preparation of the event, TPAF President David Williams, offered the following comment:

“TPAF is excited to host this unique and delicious event to discuss the importance of protecting consumers online and the dangers of sideloading. In the midst of increased cyberattacks, protecting Americans’ security online against bad state actors like China and Russia is paramount.

“We hope that through this event, both policy makers, stakeholders, and individuals will be aware of the potential risks associated with opening app ecosystems.”
