Washington, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) is disappointed, yet sadly unsurprised by the recent announcement that inflation is at 6.2 percent. This is the predictable result of reckless spending by Congress, pushed by the Biden administration.
In response, TPA VP of Policy Patrick Hedger offered the following comment:
“Voters sent a warning to Congress and the Biden Administration last week in state and local elections across the country that they are concerned about increased spending and higher taxes and the effect those policies will have on the economy. Today, the hard economic data shows that inflation is hitting levels not seen in lifetimes of many Americans. Inflation is a direct tax on every worker, every family, every retiree. Biden’s pledge to not raise taxes on those making less than $400,000 a year is effectively dead. The rest of his tax and spend agenda should be too.”
