Washington, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) responded to the historic consumer price index for the month of May—rising 8.6% from one year ago.

In response, TPA Executive Director, Patrick Hedger, offered the following statement:

“President Biden has moved from denying inflation as a problem to passing the blame.

“There is plenty of blame to go around and much of it lies with Congress, but this administration continues to do everything possible to keep the cost of goods and services rising through new regulations and the failure to remove tariffs.

“If something is not done to instill faith in consumers and business owners, the so-called ‘Biden boom’ will be remembered as the sound of the economy imploding.”
