Washington, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) is concerned with the latest inflation reports which shows an unprecedented increase in consumer goods in more than 40 years.  Polling to be released tomorrow by TPA will show that inflation and pocketbook issues are the top issues that Americans are concerned about.

In response, TPA President, David Williams, offered the following statement:

“Another month of record-breaking inflation rates are crippling American families’ pocketbooks. Even with economists’ predictions for a surge in prices, March’s rates show an even greater increase at 8.5 percent– a 40 year-high.

“These are the real issues affecting American families—filling up their gas tanks, putting food on the table, paying electricity bills. Although reports show a rise in wages across the board, inflation has unfortunately cancelled out these gains and put extra added stress on individuals daily.

“President Biden’s latest budget proposal for FY2023 with tax increases and reckless government spending are especially alarming in the midst of these inflation reports.

“Although the White House is looking to shift blame entirely to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, inflation was skyrocketing prior to the invasion. It’s time this Administration takes ownership and enacts policies that stimulate the economy and get Americans back on their feet.”
