TPA Sends Coalition Letter Urging Congress to Consider Costly F-35 Program

Today, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance sent a coalition letter with 8 organizations urging Congress to proceed with extreme caution when considering proposals to spend more money on the F- 35 engine.
“Now is not the time to be funding a second F-35 engine,” shared TPA President David Williams. “American taxpayers have already poured billions into the existing F-35 program. From record inflation to soaring gas prices, the nation has suffered enough from reckless spending. With this new engine program carrying a price tag of $1.7 trillion, this would only exacerbate the current struggles.
“Beyond the fiscal impact, the second engine will not work across all branches of military. This would add another unnecessary layer of confusion, should parts or repairs be needed on the battlefield. Uniformity across branches has always been pivotal for our armed forces. That’s why TPA sent a letter today to Congress urging them to consider this costly endeavor before moving ahead.”
