WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance released its annual ‘Tobacco & Vaping 101: 50 State Analysis.’ This analysis focuses on adult and youth use of cigarettes and e-cigarettes, effects of taxes on tobacco and vapor products, and more for all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
The full analysis can be found online here.
In response, Lindsey Stroud, Director of TPA’s Consumer Center, offered the following comment:
“This year’s analysis is truly exciting as the CDC has finally given the public data on adult e-cigarette use. Many states saw dramatic increases in adults using less harmful alternatives all the while smoking rates have decreased.
“Similar to other year’s analyses, young adult smoking rates continue to decline and have reached record lows. Policymakers should use this data to be better informed on tobacco and vaping product use in their respective states.”
