Alexandria, VA – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) is proud to announce the addition of Drew Johnson as a Senior Fellow for TPA.  Johnson is the founder of the Council on Responsible Local Government and the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“We are excited to have Drew join Taxpayers Protection Alliance in our fight against wasteful government spending,” said David Williams, TPA president. “Drew has a proven record of success and leadership in fighting spending battles at all levels of government.”

Under Johnson’s leadership, Tennessee Center for Policy Research (TCPR) became one of the most innovative and effective state-based free market think tanks in the country, saving taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, helping to lower taxes and ushering in a new era of increased government transparency.

“The Taxpayer Protection Alliance is positioned to become America’s most effective and influential voice for taxpayers,” said Johnson. “I look forward to working with TPA to uncover – and put an end to – waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers’ hard-earned money.”

Before founding TCPR, Johnson worked as policy analyst at the National Taxpayers Union.  A member of the Tennessee Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Johnson has also served on the National Ethnic and Cultural Diversity Committee of the Coalition for Juvenile Justice and the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth. Johnson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Belmont University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Pepperdine University.
