TPA Urges Congress to Advance Privacy Standards Without Stifling Innovation

This week, the Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA) sent a letter urging the House Energy & Commerce Committee to advance privacy legislation that sets a single national standard, focuses providing information to users for the purposes of informed consent, and avoids needlessly complex legislation, which will stifle innovation. The Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday to consider the recently proposed SECURE Data Act, and TPA urged the Committee to maintain the well-considered portions of the bill as negotiations continue.
