This spending has led to a $1.4 trillion deficit and debt of more than $14 trillion. The Congressional Budget Office estimated on March 18, 2011 that cumulative deficits will top $6.7 trillion from 2012 to 2021.
Also, despite a two-year moratorium, there is talk of bringing earmarks back to the budget.
